Two New Buildings Change the Look of Downtown Pittsfield

The Onota and The Howard

A $12 million redevelopment of the Howard Block and the Onota Building, (both prominent fixtures of downtown Pittsfield), will increase the supply of downtown market-rate rental apartments by about 39 new units over the next two years. Street-level commercial space will also be available.

Berkshire Theatre Festival ‘Decks the Halls’ in Onota Building Storefront

After Allegrone Construction Co. purchased the Onota Building on North Street, Berkshire Theatre Festival decorated the empty storefront with beautiful holiday décor. The feature of their Christmas décor was a framed television that captures and displays everyone passing by.

The use of space by Berkshire Theatre Festival was a huge hit and enjoyed by many!

89 South Senior Living Community Pittsfield, MA.

Originally built in 1888 as the Berkshire County Home for Aged Women, the design entailed restoring and replicating prominent historic details, which pay homage to the Richardsonian Romanesque architecture, while incorporating a new transitional style that boasts the comforts of multifamily living in the modern age. The program houses 18 residential units along with shared amenities including dining cafe, reading and fitness and educational uses.

We are all MAKERS with the power to build resilient communities.

Our team had a wonderful time participating in Yo-Yo Ma’s “Day of Action”, where teams of local businesses and organizations united under a single tent to build tables for the community. The tables are made from local ash trees and inscribed with local responses that complete the phrase “The Berkshires make...”. #yoyoma #dayofaction #community #intheberkshires
